All day nausea… Hello you nasty bitch.
I shouldn’t say that because I am so happy to be pregnant but for gods sake, come on. Do I need to feel ill all day long.
This happened for about 6 or 7 weeks. Not that long in comparison to a lot of women. So I am lucky! I shouldn’t complain. But I did! Haha.
Feeling sick all day really does take the shine of the happy pregnancy time. It’s usually in the first trimester though so technically, noone (besides all the immediates) even knows you are pregnant. So try explaining why you feel so shithouse all the time without it looking and sounding suspect. I was lucky cause I only have a small network and I work from home so I had no work colleagues etc to have to hide it from. Bonus!
So I spent a lot of my time in the first trimester, just lazing about on the couch and having naps. It was literally all that made me feel better. Being in a reclined position. Oh and icy poles. I lived on lemonade icy poles, or ice blocks, or slushies. I also had a major bread and cheese fetish. I made my husband and my mum buy me big french sticks and I would cut slices off and butter them and have huge slabs of cheese. Was all that made me feel good. Hardly nutritional!
I was very lucky that my chiropractor turned me onto some great whole food capsules that I started taking during this time. It was great to get some nutrients into my body for bubs. I’m sure bread, cheese and lemonade wasn’t the ideal platform for a growing baby. So these capsules were a godsend. Helped me get some good stuff into me without having to stomach the foods that were going to make me nauseous. Loved and still do love these awesome whole food capsules.
I didn’t really get many cravings besides the bread and sugar.
I could have eaten hot chips all day too but I tried to curb that craving since I was already eating enough shit with all the icy poles I was having. Oh……. no I tell lies, I had a major Red Tulip chocolate thing going on towards the end of my pregnancy. I ate so many easter eggs and bunny’s. God I love my Red Tulip, even when I’m not pregnant!
So by the 13th or 14th week of my pregnancy the sicks went away.
At last, I could start eating more like the little piggy I am! And I kind of made up for lost time! The second trimester was my hungry time!
